Healsville

We were quite sad when it was time to leave John and Barbara and we look forward to their next visit to the UK when we hope to see them in Cornwall. Once on the road and out of Melbourne we headed north through the Yarra valley to visit an animal sanctuary in Healsville. There is a raptor display every day but when we arrived we were amazed at the variety of Australian animals at home in the sanctuary. Many had been saved from road accidents others were bred at the sanctuary as part of a nationwide effort to protect endangered species.

Birds of Prey

Black Breasted Buzzard

Barking Owl

Brown Falcon

Cute, cheeky and endangered animals

I have no idea what they are up to.

Fresh water crocodile

Rock Wallaby

And Lovely Birds
Chestnut-breasted Mannikin

And a kingfisher to mention just a few.
