Wellington to Picton
Our time in the North Island has come to an end we have loved every minute and are really sad to leave such a wonderful island with beautiful scenery, outstanding spectacles and friendly people.
We took our car on the ferry to avoid having to check in our luggage and collect it again in Picton. It was so easy to just drive onto the ferry. Everyone we to spoke to about the trip wanted to know how it went. I think it is sometimes very rough but our crossing was calm, sunny and very enjoyable. We enjoyed the chance to sit back, have a coffee and enjoy the sights. The North Island vanished over the horizon as the South Island was getting ever closer. We were definitely looking forward to the next part of our adventure.

Our Ferry only used the stern for embarking and disembarking, so we had to do a u-turn inside the ship. Easy for us but fun for the artic-lorries with trailers!
